En la moda, todo vuelve (In fashion, everything returns)

Hay una máxima del asesoramiento de imagen que dice que: si tenés una prenda de buena calidad, se encuentra en buen estado y es la ideal para tu forma de cuerpo; cuando veas que se pasa de moda no la tires: Guardala!!! En un lugar donde esté protegida y no moleste. En unos años la vas a volver a usar.

There is a maxim of image counseling that says that: if you have good quality clothing, it is in good condition and is ideal for your body shape; When you see that it goes out of fashion, do not throw it away: Save it! In a place where it is protected and does not disturb. In a few years you will use it again.

Me gusta coleccionar revistas de tejidos, cocina y especialmente de moda. Guardo algunos números que fueron especiales para mí. Y siempre obtengo buenas ideas: cómo combinar de formas diferentes o principalmente cómo rescatar alguna prenda que hace tiempo que no uso y con algo nuevo puede mostrar una imagen totalmente renovada.

Claro que, cuando las revistas se empiezan a poner viejas, aquellos conjuntos que nos parecían fantásticos ahora pueden verse hasta ridículos. La moldería de la ropa es la que pone en evidencia si algo se encuentra o no pasado de moda. Los modelos oversize, hombreras gigantes y cinturas marcadas por ejemplo, es un claro ícono de la década de los 80′ …. pero luego de algunas décadas, con algunos detalles parece que todo vuelve. Y según parece la ropa masculina tampoco está fuera de este círculo.

Estos días me puse a hojear unas revistas que hace algunos años atrás hubiera desechado porque creí que nunca más podrían volver a estar de moda…. aquí te comparto algunas fotos y los datos de edición de las revistas para que te sorprendas conmigo.

I like to collect fabric, kitchen and especially fashion magazines. I keep some numbers that were special to me. And I always get good ideas: how to combine in different ways or mainly how to rescue a garment that I have not used for a long time and with something new can show a totally renewed image.

Of course, when the magazines start to get old, those sets that seemed fantastic now can be ridiculous. The clothing molds are the mainly indicator if something is outdated or not. Oversize models, giant shoulder pads and waists marked for example, is a clear icon of the 80’s’ …. but after a few decades, with some details it seems that everything returns. And according to it, seems the masculine clothes is not outside this circle either.

These days I started to browse some magazines that some years ago I would have rejected because I thought that they could never be in fashion again … here I share some photos and the edition data of the magazines so you can be surprised with me.

14 AÑOS y 12 AÑOS: Esta bellísima cartera de Miu Miu fue publicada en la revista Marie Claire de Francia en febrero de 2005 (página 152). La pareja veraniega de la foto de la derecha muestra el look de fin de año en la revista argentina Para Ti edición Navidad del año 2007.

Y yo también tengo mis propios elegidos!! Te muestro dos casos:

And I also have my own chosen ones! I show you two cases:

1 – Estos aretes me los regaló una prima cuando yo era adolescente. Fueron mis primeros aretes largos y creo que los guardé solo por eso. Estaban en una caja como un recuerdo… y hoy varias décadas después te cuento que los uso bastante. Son de acrílico transparente y van muy bien con muchos looks de día.

These earrings were given to me by a cousin when I was a teenager. They were my first long earrings and I think I saved them just for that. They were in a box like a memory … and today, several decades later, I tell you that I use them a lot. They are made of transparent acrylic and go very well with many day looks.

2 – Estas botas son de cuero rojo. El diseño es bellísimo. Las compré en la década de los 90 cuando se usaban las puntas cuadradas y estos tacones tan poco habituales. Las guardé durante 15 años…. hace poco las saqué de donde estaban guardadas para pedirle a un zapatero de confianza que mejorara el estado de la suela…. y voilà…. tengo un par de botas super trendy!!!

These boots are red leather. The design is beautiful. I bought them in the 90s when they used the square tips and these heels so unusual. I kept them for 15 years … I recently took them out of where they were stored to ask a trusted shoemaker to improve the condition of the sole … and voilà …. I have a pair of super trendy boots !!!

¿Cuáles son los tips para guardar?

• El producto sea de buena calidad y de buenos materiales.
• Debe ser de tu talla.
• Que te guste. Por el único motivo que no lo usarías es porque te aburrió o está pasado de moda.
• Al guardarlo que no quede siempre visible…. no debe estar con la ropa que usás a diario… de preferencia, que puedas olvidarte por un tiempo que existe.
• Los zapatos o botas de cuero, por humedad, pueden desarrollar un moho blanquecino. No entres en pánico, se puede quitar con un paño seco.
• Ser muy paciente….. con los años lo vas a poder usar.

CONSEJO FINAL: LA IDEA NO ES PARECER DISFRAZADO DE OTRA ÉPOCA! SI SENTÍS QUE ESTO OCURRE…. HAY QUE ARCHIVAR LA PRENDA POR ALGUNOS AÑOS MÁS.

What are the tips to save?

• The product is of good quality and good materials.
• It must be your size.
• That you like. For the only reason you would not use it is because it bored you or is out of fashion.
• When you save it that is not always visible … it should not be with the clothes you wear daily … preferably, you can forget for a while that exists.
• Leather shoes or boots, due to humidity, can develop a whitish mold. Do not panic, you can remove it with a dry cloth.
• Be very patient … over the years you will be able to use it

FINAL ADVICE: THE IDEA IS NOT SEEMING DISGUISED FROM ANOTHER TIME! IF YOU FEEL THIS HAPPENS …. YOU MUST SAVE THE GARMENT FOR SOME FEW MORE YEARS.
